SAP ABAP Developer, Junior
Role Summary The company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SAP ABAP Developer, Junior to join our dynamic technology team. Based on-site in Middletown, Delaware, United States, this full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for an aspiring developer to contribute to the design, development, and support of robust SAP solutions. You will play a key role in enhancing our existing SAP landscape and implementing new functionalities, working within a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and innovative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects) in various SAP modules.
- Collaborate with functional teams and business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of existing ABAP programs and system issues.
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new SAP functionalities and solutions.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, coding standards, and documentation guidelines.
- Contribute to system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-go-live support activities.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing processes and suggest innovative solutions.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and development trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Proficiency in ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP, ABAP Dictionary, ALV reports, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancements.
- Experience with various RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
- Solid understanding of SAP data structures and standard functionalities in at least one core module (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA development (e.g., ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP).
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development or exposure to front-end technologies.
- Knowledge of SAP integration technologies (e.g., OData services, SOAP/REST APIs, PI/PO).
- Understanding of SAP Workflow and Web Dynpro ABAP.
- Relevant SAP certifications.
